TRICK CYCLING
An exhibition of trick cycling, with an acrobatic climax that would have aroused envy in the heart of the famous Blondin hilmself, caused a mild sensation in New Lynn the other day. The first character in order of appearance was an over-confident cyclist, who was riding along to work with a lunch case under one arm and his hands in his pockets, leaving the steering to the motion of his body. Just past the Whan Bridge a speeding motor cyclist overtook him, and a sudden swerve by the man in front brought both machines into collision. The trick-rider was forthwith thrown from his own machine on to the motorcycle, and in this fashion was carried along feet forward to overtake a third cyclist, who received an unpleasant surprise by a sudden blow on the back from the feet of the inverted pillion rider. In the mix-up that followed, the third character in the drama received severe facial in'uries, and his machine was considerably damaged. Ironically enough, the trick-rider escaped without a scratch.
