Under the Mining Act, 1926. APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RaCE. Application No. 1/30. To the Warden of the Westland Mining District at Hokitika. PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926 the undersigned KANIERI ELECTRIC LIMITED, a duly registered Company, having its registered office and carrying on business at Hokitika as a Power Company, hereby applies for .a license for .a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose. Precise time of completion of marking out privilege applied for: 6 p.m.- on 10/1/30. Date and number of miner’s right: 3rd. July, 1929. Starting about 100 yards below the confluence of Butcher’s Creek with Kanieri River and terminating on the south bank of Kanieri River, approximately 150 yards below the confluence of McKay’s 'Creek with Kanieri River. Length and Intended Course of race: Length, about 2 milse. Course, general njorth-westerly. Points of intake: South side Kanieri River. Estimated time and cost of/ construction : 12 months. £B,OOO. Mean depth and breadth: Ditching 9ft. by 6ft., partly flaming and tunnelling. Number of heads to be diverted: 175 heads. Purpose for which Water is to be used: Mining and electrical development.
