ROYAL SHOW

SOUTHLAND OPTIMISM. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association ) INVERCARGILL, Dee. (5. Everything points to the 1929 Royal Show, which will be officially opened by the Governor-General at the Southland A. and P. Association’s grounds on Tuesday, being signally successful. The entries will total over 2200, and although not quite so numerous as at Christchurch Royal Show, compare more than favourably; with the Royal Shows at other centres, and are better balanced than at Christchurch. It is expected to be one of the finest, comprehensive displays of cattle, sheep, and horses ever seen in the Dominion. The grounds are in splendid order, and most complete arrangements have been made to care for the stock. Visitors are arriving at Invercargill in large numbers, but there is still plenty of .accommodation available. The official opening and the general review of the Show will be broadcast on Tuesday, and there will be further broadcasting on Wednesday and Thursday.
