WELLINGTON, November 29

Mis Excellency the Governor General has received official advice that Mis Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to appoint the Right Honouraide Lord Bledisloe, K.8.E., to lie Gov-ernor-General of New Zealand, in succession to General Sir Charles Fergusson. Baronet, G.C.M.G., K.C.8., D. 5.0., M..V.0., whose term of office will expire early next year.

‘ Charles Bathurst Baron Bledisloe, K.IL, was .Parliamentary Secretary - in the Ministry of. Agriculture and Deputy Minister of .Agriculture in the late Conservative. Government, and . also Chairman olf Committee of Lawes Agricultural Trust (Piotliamsted) and of the' Agricultural- Research Committee Bristol University. He was NI.P. (C.) for South Wilts- (NYilton) Division from 1910 to 1918; and was also a member of. the Council of the Duchy of Lancaster, and -Parliamentary Secretary to the. Minister of Food from 1916 to 1917. He was Chairman of the Royal Commission on the'Sugar'Supply' and Director of -Sugar Distribution Muring" the wal'. He is. the smf rif Mr Charles Bathurst, of Lvdney Park,' Gloucestershire, and was horn on September 21st, 1867'.' His heir is the Hon. Benjamin Ludlow Bathurst, 'who was born ‘2nd October;'lS99.-- •'
