A GOLD FIND. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, October 4. A gold find is reported from Drake, near Tenterfield. In a few days, two men. unearthed about one hundred ounces of pure gold, some nuggets of solid gold weighing seven ounces. WOOL SALES/ (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 4. Owing to the depression in wool prices, Sydney Woolbrokers and Growers’ Council to-day decided to curtail the offerings at this centre by twentyfive per cent from next Wednesday, until October 31st. CHURCH INSURANCE. SYDNEY, Oct. 4. The Anglican Synod of the Diocese of Sydney decided to establish a Oliurch Insurance Company with a capital of fifty thousand sterling. Canon Beck questioned the propriety of the Church, as a spiritual society, taking part in a business concern. One lavman referred to the proposal as a wild-cat scheme.
