(By Telegraph—Press Association). • WANGANUI, October 4. The weather is fine with a fresh northerly for the final of the professional championship. Tn the first round between A. J. Shaw and E. J. Moss, the match is all square. The golf up to the turn was hardly up to 'the standard, of championship final. Moss was 39 and Shaw 41. Shaw was distinctly scratchy but woke up from the turn and came home brilliantly in 33. The-18th. - was spectacular from- good drives'. Both played magnificent seconds to the pin. Shaw was 2ft: 6in. and Moss a few inches further away. Moss lipped for the three while Shaw canned.- The scores were: Shaw 75, Moss 75.
