Rumour has it, that at a recent hotel fire on. the r est Coast, a board*, er risked, his life in an endeavour to save something which he- considered of great value. Just as the ceil in" was about to collapse he dashed inside. and after a.n anxious couple of mine top- appeared, outside holding a bottle of ale in each hand. A spectator who witnessed the act, enquired why ho had taken such a gieut risk. The brave one holding up the two bottles, of “Westland” Ale, promptly remarked it was well worth while, and he added that lip would go much further to procure a bottle of ale brewed by the Westland Breweries.—43,
