INDUSTRY. x PLANTATIONS ESTABLISHED IN NEW GUINEA. (Australian’ Press Association) . SYDNEY, October 2. It is reported a number of Northern Queensland sugar growers are dissatisfied with the existing. labour conditions and sent an expert to New Guinea to investigate the possibility of establishing plantations there. The report was so favourable that farmers are taking steps to form a company with a million sterling as capital. It is understood the syndicate secured .twenty thousand acres- and it is expected within four years the annual yield will be thirty thousand tons. Australian sugar growers outside 'the syndicate are formulating plans to oppose the scheme. •
