PUBLIC BEQUESTS. DUNEDIN, October 1. Under the Will of the late Sir George Fenwick the following legacies of a public and charitable ..nature have been made:— >' ',(s £350 to the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society. £l5O to the Otago Society ifor the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals'.
£l5O to the general church fund of the Anglican Church- of Dunedin. £l5O to the Art Gallery Society. £l5O to St. Mary’s Orphanage, Mornington. After certain events in th 4 course of tne administration of the estate have occurred the following additional legacies will be payable:— £250 to the Dunedin Art Gallery Society. £3OO to the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society.
£2OO to the Otago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. £l5O to the general church fund olf the Anglican Church of Dunedin. It may be remarked that Sir George Fenwick was during the course of bis long life a generous subscriber to many societies and bodies having for their objects the amelioration of the conditions of persons affected by distress and misfortune, and for this reason bis testamentary benefactions were limited to the above mentioned institutions, which lay especially close to bis heart.
