KEEN AMERICAN INTEREST. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, October 1. On board the liner Berengaria, the Right Hon Ramsay MacDonald enjoyed a day comparatively free from preoccupation in official affairs. There are indications of widespread interest in his voyage throughout the United States and Canada. These have come to him from many sources, and he is grateful to know that the tremendous interest which ho attaches to his visit is shared so widely. It is understood that while Mr MacDonald ,is in Canada, some definite progress in the settlement of the British 'unemployed will result The -Prime Minister spent the day reading and sitting for his portrait, and with his daughter in the evening watched a carnival dinner and dance, but, he retired early. Later Miss Tshbel MnoDonald joined the party and danced until after eleven o’clock.
The Prime 'Minister, so far, has taken all his meals in the public dining room, and has mingled with the/passengers.
