THE “BLOOD STAINED” AXE. (By Telegraph—Per Press -Association.) jPALMERS'pON N./ October 1. Detectives conducting the investigations into the Himitangi tragedy know nothing of the finding of an axe, allegedly blood stained, in the scrub near the scene of Wright's homestead. It was reported fiom Foxton that during an inspection of farm implements at the "Westlake homestead, prior to an auction sale, a prospective buyer discovered what . appeared to be a blood stained axe'at a short distance from a whare. The i police point out that they have accounted for the two axes used on the farm, one of which they took into the scrub to chop kindling wood to boil the midday billy. This axe was probably left where last used, to be
ound later by Robinson and party.
