EGYPTIAN TREATY
EARLY ACCEPTANCE EXPECTED. (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). LONDON, September 29. The “ Daily Chronicle’s ” Cairo correspondent states: The crisis existing in connection with the Anglo-Egyptian 'treaty will end on Tuesday. Even the •Wafd Party feels that the crisis cannot be allowed to continue. King Fuad lias had hours of conversation with Mustapha, the Wafd’s President. . Following a lunch at Air Lorraine s house, other British officials were in communication with the Prime Minister, thus suggesting that the clepvnge between the Wafd and the Cabinet is decreasing- . The Wafd wishes free elections for the new Parliament on the basis of universal suffrage, with a neutral cabinet in office during the elections, for the purpose. The members of the Cabinet, however,'declare that they have no desire to hang on •to office if there is any certitude of the British Treaty being ratified. - - >■ ‘ ■■■■■.• ■■ It is widely* recognised that the important thin£ is' to get the Treaty accepted, so that commonsense and good will are likely to prevail.
