RAISED FROM 9s TO 12s. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, September 27. By 9 votes to 30 the Hospital Board has raised the fees from 9s to 12s per day for adults and from 4s fid to 6s for children. Some of the scales for special treatment, such as x-rays, were also raised. The Chairman said the total cost of the hospital was £228,538 last year. The expenses had ocntinually gone up and maintenance per bed had increased in six years from £l7O 18s to £l9O 12s. Out-patients had increased from 12,777 to 22,609. Interest charges had gone from £3546 to ±/x6,735. The opposition came from members who believed m a free hospital for all and that the country at large should find the cost.
