SUICIDE WITH GAS

BY EX-SEA CAPTAIN. (By Telegraph— Press Association). . AUCKLAND, Sept. 26. A retired sea captain, Frederick Joseph Gill, aged about 47, was found dead in a room of his house at 3, Tui Street, Devonport, about eight o’clock to-night. There was the gas tube of a radiator in his mouth. The discovery was made by the police, who broke into the house at the request of deceased’s wife. It is understood Gill had been alone in the house all day, his wife having left in the morning. When she returned, the doors were locked, and Gill was missing. The Devonport police were then called. Gill had apparently been dead for severa hours. He leaves a wife and four children.
