Germany defeated England by eight events to four in the first Anglo-Ger-man athletic contest at Stamford Bridge since the War. Lord Burghley and Dr Pelt/.er (dermany) participated. Germany won the 460 metres relay, the discus throwing, the three mile team race, the pole jump, the high jump, the long jump, the weight putting, and the mile medley relay. England won the 460 hurdles, two mile relay (in 7.43 1-5, a British record), the mile and four mile relays. N.S.W. TEN MILE TITLE. SYDNEY, - August 20. The ten mile track championship of New South Wales was Avon by Jeff MacKenzie (Western Suburbs) with his club mates, Frank Bailey and Sid Hesketh, second and third respectively.
