INDIAN STRIKERS
CHARGED BY TROOPS
(United Press Association.—ByElectrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) CALCUTTA, August 24. Police and troops charged six thousand of the jute mill strikers, who attempted to prevent loyal workers from entering a jute mill near Calcutta and who refused to obey a Magistrate’s order to disperse.' Several, of the strikers were injured, and three police officials were hurt by stones thrown by the mob. Five men were arrested. The strikers are sUIII being influenced by agitators, but the position is improving. It is hoped that there will be a Tnil resumption of work on Monday.
