(Received this day at 11.25. a.m.) SHANGHAI, August. 22. • It is reported that four thousand Russians have invaded Manchuria ana are moving northward to Lake Henpkai, where they have occupied the important town of Misham. The Chinese garrisoned there were immediately withdrawn and ninety per cent of the Chinese civil population along the border fled. FIGHTING AT MANCHULI. , SUBSTANTIAL CASUALTIES. HONG KONG, Aug. 22. The British naval wireless states n report has been received of severe fighting by Chinese and Russian troops. Although the point of conflict is not mentioned presumably it refers to fierce engagements at Manchuli yesterday morning. It is estimated three hundred Chinese were killed and many casualties.
