RACING DIVIDENDS

MINISTER INTERVIEWED

(By Telegraph—Press Association).

AUCKLAND, July 29

There seems a general impression amongst racing enthusiasts that the proposed publication of dividends in Dominion newspapers and telegraphing money to racecourses will be favourably considered by Parliament. Hou de la Perelle to-day said that Sir Geo. Hunter had already introduced a Bill covering these concessions. I can’t say, of course, what Parliament will do, bub from the feeling in the House to-day, the measure is certain to be given serious consideration. In regard to the pnuhlication of dividends, a gentleman showed me (Mr Perelle) this morning a copy of a Sydney paper containing dividends of one of New Zealand’s principal meetings He remarked that if these papers can come in with the information why should not our papers publish them. Regarding the general political situation Hon de la Perelle. says Sir Joseph Ward is showing his old form. In dealing with many matters of Dominion importance, the very best is being done, and it is pleasing to know ...at the people recognise it. Great headway is being made continued the Minister.
