it EATS FOR N.Z. TROTTING CUP. TO REDUCE LARGE FIELDS. ! By Telegraph, Per Press Association/ 1 CHRISTCHURCH, May 24. A radical change has been made in tin- conditions of the New Zealand Trotting Cup to be run in November. Instead. of one race for the stake of £3OOO, the race will he run in bents. This is-to reduce the size of the field, which hitherto has been so large as to make the task of back markers almost impossible. The race will he run in two heats and n final, four horses from each heat to start in the final. Tile stakes for each heat will he £IOOO and the final will he worth £2OOO.
