May 11. “In some ways he is more to he commended than blamed,” said All Lawry, S.M., in the Children’s Court, when n lad of sixteen was stated te have erected ■ a wireless transmittim: set hv his own efforts and .finance. The hoy was charged with having in license to use a transmitting set. Ht was admonished and • discharged. The Senior-Sergeant -said that the b«v bad a radio transmitting installation for which he. could not get a license until lie had passed an examination. A heavy penalty was prescribed for such ail offence. “The worst feature” • continued the SeniorSergeant, “is that the set was interfering with the radio broadcasting.’’ In reply to a question the lad said that the set had cost him from £8 to £lO to erect.
