Tlie story of a daylight hold-up and robbery of £3OO wa.s told to detectives this afternoon by Allan Edwards, aged 25, employed by a City firm of plum hers and gnsfitters. Edwards declared that lie had obtained £3OO from tlie Commonwealth Bank, being • the wages of his fellow employees. lie was carrying the money in a small attache case when a man came behind him. in the subway.at the St. .James Underground Station, and dealt him two blows oil. the head and drove two fingers into his mouth to prevent him from calling for assistance. The man .throjv him down, snatched the hag and the money, and then disappeared outside the subway among the crowds i.f pedestrians. ' Edwards looked little tlie worse for his experience.
