The annual return of Suez canal for 1928 shows transit receipts were 222,396,208 francs. The total tonnage through the canal was 31,905,902, whereof British was 18,124,074, Dutch 3,329,628, German 3,300,018, French 1,926,969, Italian 1,649,792.
