“ THE GRIP OF THE YUKON ” W -TO-NIGHT.
Farrell O’Neil, mystery man of the Yukon Wastes, pays for his food and liquor with sacks of gold nuggets. He seems' possessed of something that tears 1 at his’ very soul and when he grinds money to his daughter in the states so that she' might!-, come to Alaska In the spring-people talk of him' in undertones. He is cai-efully' guarding his secret when Colby MacIJonald and Jack Elliott, lost in the break 4 into his -cabin., They are riot welcome and after a gun battle O’Neil is-laid to'rest in a gully not far from liis mine and the partners take possession of his claim. The two partners' work the claim until spring, when Sheila O’Neil comes to Alaska in search of her father. She waits patiently for her father but eventually nips out of money and is forced to work in Chardon’s dance' hall where MacDonald and Elliott sec her often and 5 'become quite attached to her. Chfrfdon; has herein his power, however, and eventually asks her to marry lniyi whiqh she refuses to do. She becomes'- desperate and offers’ herself to the winner of a poker game which Costs an ante of £I,OOO if the winner will marry her and take liqr back to tne' State's. Elliott sits in the game and after considerable betting he raises ..the' bets until everyone drops out and under the pretext that she lielongs to both of them, the take , her ,to their cabin. When they learn that she is the daughter of the man they killed it is 1 ' impossible for them to tell her of their love and she lives with .them as partners. The men quarrel over the girl and MacDonald gives his half of the girl for Elliott’s half of the mine. At the same time Marshall Hoyt has discovered who mqrdered O’Neil and comes to take the partners but lie is outwitted and is forced to pursue Jack and Sheila with their dog team. The climax of this thrillinp-l-charaa of the great northern irjtisipe ’vji] b n seen in “Grip otf the yei-o.ti,” -Universal picture, which wi.l) be -semi at the Princess Theatre t'S-iii/rlit, Neil Hamilton, Francis X. Hush .man, June JUm’lowe, James Far-1 ley. tHig Harlan, Tlieodore Larch and Burr Mclntosh are seen in the all-star cast of this- .great picture, which was directed by Ernst Laemmle. Further chapters of the great circus serial “-The Trail of the Tiger,” a topical and comedy will also be shown.
