G. Eetherston, a Hamilton journalist. and spiritualist, who died aboard the “ Tol'ua ” between Suva and Nukualofa, on April 1, wrote oil the eve. of bis death a letter to the
AA’aikato Times ” stating that he was in fair health, but that spirits had informed him that his passing was near. 'J lie letter states:-
“ Permit me to add my quota to the recent debate in your columns with respect to the reality of spiritualistic phenomena. Publicity was some time ago given to predictions ol my death not being verified by the event. To .these predictions I did not mysell give any great credence because of the
evident . lack of authority, but now at the time of writing, while in fair health. 1 am in receipt of a spirit message direct to myself that the time of passim/ is at hand. I await the out-coi-nil’ interest. The message seems of h'g i authority and I confess to accepting if with confidence. It a .'fords a fa!:* t'*st. I pen this at sea, he two ■>< Suva and Nukualofa.—S. G. Fetlieisi. u.”
