SHOCKING ACCIDENT

BOTH FEET CUT OFF

WELLINGTON, April 12,

During .shunting operations in the Tbonnloii railways yards at about 7.30 o’clock to-night, William Oman, a married mail, with children, and residing in the railway settlement at Kaiwarowara, had both of his feet severed at the ankles by the wheels of a wagon passing over them. Oman did not see the approaching wagon until it was almost on to him, and lie fell in endeavouring to jump dear. He was taken to the hospital. Oman arrived in Wellington from New Plymouth three or four months ago.
