The Queensland howling party arrived ifrora Reef ton at mid-day, and r this afternoon played a two-rink jnatch with Westport. Details are as follows : Blaxall (Westport) heat McMillan (Queensland) 23-15, Struthers (Westport) beat Curran (Queensland) 20-18. Westport won by 43 to 33. The weather, though threatening, kept tine. The visitors were greatly impressed with the green. Mr Curran remarked: “ I have played on almost every green in Australia, hut never before'on a green like this.- It is a freak green—a billiard table.” WELLINGTON, January 18. The semi-finalists in the champion pairs are: Edwards (Temuka),; McWhannell (Hataitai), (Kelburn), Lawrence (Linwood).
