AR A iJURA FAT STOCK SALE A
At the above yards yesterday 43 If at sheep and -IS fat cattle comprised the entry of Messrs W. Jeffries and Co., which was submitted to the usual buyers. Competition for beef was scarcely as good as the figures revealed at the last sale while the quality was excellent. The drop is attributed to the approach of summer weather which militates against the good prices for big cattle. The drop ranged yesterday from 15s to Cl per head for heavy sorts, while light and medium finished pens sold nearly up to late rates. Heavy ox beef made from 38s to 40s per hundred, medium finished weights 40s to 43s 6d, lighter sorts to 425. Extra heavy cows 37s to 395. Trime heifer to 41s.
The following sales were recorded : On account of Mr T. T. O’Neil, 21 shorn fat sheep at 325. On account of Mr D. C. Finch, 1 cow at £lO 2s Od. On account of Mr G. Ferguson, 8 shorn sheep at 33s (kl, 14 woolly sheep at 3is (id. On account of Mr J. J. Mulvaney, 1 steer at Cl 12s Od, 1 heifer at Cl 12s 6d, 1 cow at £ll 2s (id. On account of Mr H. Busch, 2 heifers at £lO 7s (id, 2 at £B, 2 cows at £ll 10s. On account of Messrs AY. Terry and Co., 2 bullocks at £l4 10s, 3 at £l3 105,>3 at £l3 2s 6d, 3at £l2 os, 1 cow at £9 7s Od. 2 heifers at £8 17s Od, 2 runners at £7 7s Gd. On account of Messrs J. Condon and Sons, 1 bullock at £l7, 2 at £l6 15s, 2 at £l6, 1 at £lO 17s Od, 2 at £l6 los, 1 heifer at £ls os, 2 at. £l4, 3 at £l2 10s, 2 at £l2, 1 at £ll 15s, 3 cow at £l3, 1 cow at £l3 los, 1 at £ll 15s.
At a meeting of butchers held at Arahura Yards yesterday it was decided to hold the ’Xmas stock sale on AVednesday, 19th December, at 1 p.m.
