TYPHOID OUTBREAK
EPIDEMIC AT LYONS

LONDON, November 20
The “ Daily Mail’s ” correspondent at Lyons reports a typhoid fever epidemic, involving three thousand, threatens to overwhelm the medical and sanitary authorities. Isolation hb’spitals are packed and already there have been seven deaths.
A judicial inquiry was opened. Tt is believed the epidemic is due to contamination of the city’s drinking water.
