(Received this day at, 11.25. a.in.) ADELAIDE, Nov. 27. Fourteen blacks were sentenced to periods of six to twelve mouths lor sheep Idling in the Oodnadatta district. They admitted the ollenco pleading they “too much hungry. I A representative of the Aboriginal Friends Association, however, stated (be natives were well treated by the station owners. The sheep were killed by order of the tribal bead men and that, some 'punishment, other than imprisonment was necessary as a deterrent, lieeauso the natives did not mind gaol, where they were well fed and clothed. The Judge said that imprisonment was the penalty be was empowered to inflict.
