“LADIES MUST DRESS” —TO-NIGHT.

Virginia Willi and Lawrence Gray have the leading romantic roles in “Ladies Must Dress,” a Fox Films production which comes to the Princess Theatre to-night. .Tin’s is a com- . edy-drama of to-day which centers about a problem which began with Eve. The question is, “ Can a woman afford to neglect her dross?” Taking tin’s situation in its broadest sense, and adapting it to every-day conditions, Victor Heerman is said to liave developed it into one of the most interesting stories brought to the silver sheet in recent months. His cast includes Halilam Cooley, Earle Foxe and Nancy Carroll. Heerman, who wrote the storyj’ and then directed it with an excellent cast, has shown rare judgment in the selection of his incidents. He has placed his story in New York, in the heart of the working districts, and many of the scenes are laid in Gramercy street and in the interior of a great department store. Miss Valli in her role of Eve; quiet but thoroughly capable, makes the mistake ol thinking that a girl off' to-day can cling to the customs of yesterday. She fails to buy modern drosses, not because she does not like pretty things, but liecause she prefers to own a home. For this purpose she conducts a joint saving account with Lawrence Gray, her sweetheart. In the course of the story, however, she discovers that men are virtually all alike. I hey like pretty women and they want them well dressed. Gray doesn’t say this in so many words, but his actions are eloquent, and Virginia cannot fail to understand. Then, somewhat dumbly, because she has been deeply hurt, she starts to dress the part. To her own amazement and the mortification of Gray, she is sought by men who crave her society. This angers Gray and ends in a smashing' climax. A topical and comedy will also he shown to-night.

On Wednesday popular Norma Talmadge will be seen in her latest success, “ Kiki,” supported by Ronald Col man.
