ONE-LEGGED GOLFER
One of the competitors in the bogey foursomes for “lawn tennis golfers” at Woodcote Park Epson, was Mr Hope Crisp, who lost a leg at Hill 60. He was partnered by Mr P. Spurrier, of the Rochampton Club, their handicap being 9. Crisp uses crutches at golf, laying them aside when playing his shots. Nort withstanding his handicap, he played a splendid game. He and Spurrier ended with a return of all square, and won the competition. It was Crisp’s first golfing prize. At tennis Crisp uses an artificial limb.
