EXPERT FORGER
SENTENCED TO 7 YEARS

The most expert forger known in London for thirty-five years was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for forging currency notes. A remarkable feature was that all work was done by hand, with a drawing pen, varying inks, and a magnifying glass. Each was so perfect that the hanks had the utmost difficulty in detecting the forgery. it is revealed that the forger first, with a pencil traced a genuine note, and ihen inked it with etxraordinary cleverness, simulating the water-marks by painting with grease. The forgeries wcie leaching the Bank of England weekly. When arrested he had nearly one hundred half-finished notes in his possession. LONDON, November 22. The forger’s name is William Reynolds. aged 00, of slight build, greyhaired, with a student look. It is revealed that a woman was recently sentenced to three years for passing Reynolds’s notes. She was remarkably loyal to him, refusing to divulge Jus whereabouts or give any information regarding him. The judge, carefully examining the notes confessed the lorgerv ha tiled him.
