FRED THOMSON AND SILVER KING—TO-NIGHT.
Powerful with the virility ami realism that marks all of Fred Thomson's productions, his latest release 'foi FRO, “ hone Hand Saunders,” will la shown to-night at the Princess Theatre. The famous Western star gives r
splendid interpretation of the role o a surgeon, who, embittered by th death of his sister whom he hoped t. cure, comes to Arizona and esia iishe; himself as a ranch owner. ' How hi resolutions are broken down by hi: sympathy for a crippled boy and the latter’s devoted nurse, forms the basis of a graphic and forceful picture. Fred’s noted equine assistant. Silver King, plays an important part, and the work of Bess Flowers as the lovely heroine and Hilly Putts as the hoy is worthy of high praise. Heaves Mason directed the film with his usual extra ordinary ability in portraying action and drama, and the remainder of the cast, which includes Frank .Maguey. William Courtright, Bill Dyer, and A! bert Priseoc, furnishes excellent support. Del Andrev.es wrote the adaptation and continuity from Frank Al Clifton’s story.
The big railroad serial. “Whispering Smith Rides,” will he shown beginning this (Friday) evening at the PrincesTheatre. Wallace MacDonald is the star oif the chapter film adapted I rum a famous story by Frank IT. Spearman. It is said that the story has been translated into seven languages, but this is nothing compared to the picture which is guaranteed to tin ill the lam In any language./ The first episode contains many big scenes including a good old-fashioned western saloon brawl and a sand storm on the closer in which a beautiful maiden’s lit* bungs by a zephyr. “"Whispering Smith. Rides” was produced by Adventure Pictures, Inc., and distributed by •Universal. The supporting cast in eludes Rose Blossom, .T. P. McGowan. Henry Herbert, W r . M. McCormick Nelson Alac-Dowell, Willie Fung and Dick La Reno.
