HOKITIKA SWIMMING CLUB
The annual meeting of the above Club was held at the Swimming Baths last evening, there being a fair attendance. Mr D. J. Evans occupied the chair.
A lengthy report from the Secretary (Mr M. Houston Junr.) reviewing the work of the year, was read; *lso the balance .sheet, showing a surplus of £SO. The report and balance sheet were received and adopted. The officers of the Club were re-elect-ed, Mr Bergamini being substituted for Mr Keesing as vice-capt.
Mr T. Gillooly was appointed Chairman of the Ground Committee. It was resolved to have the stands overhauled and repaired.
Tlie Secretary reported regarding the recent repairs to the baths, the work being favourably commented on. The cost was £lls towards which the Borough Council was to contribute £SO. It was resolved to hold a swimming carnival on the evening of Boxing Day, and a programme was drafted for approval by tlie centre. The subscriptions were revised, those for males, 18 years and over being fixed at 7s 6d, ladies os. children 2s 6d. In the case of families 7s 6d was fixed as the maximum for any number of young children of the same family attending a primary school. ‘ . Air H. Lawn was appointed joint secretary with Air Houston Junr. Members’ tickets will be obtainable from Air Lawn or on payment to the caretaker. Air Rocliford was appointed' Sports’ Secretary.
