DOCTORS PUZZLED.
LONDON, Au ff . 22. Mr Tngleby ocl die, the Westminster coroner, yesterday adjourned the'inquiry into tiie death of Miss Alice Susannah Annie Straight, a nurse, aged 50. for an analysis to he made. Mrs Elizabeth May Woodcock, of Warwick road, Southall, a sister, said that during the past 20 years Miss Straight had undergone four operations for gastric trouble. Replying to the coroner, she said that her sister did not take drugs, but sometimes took aspirin. Dr Annie. McGrath, house physician at Westminster Hospital, where Miss Straight ded, said that the case was an extremely puzzling one. T)r H. B. Weir, pathologist, stated that death was' due to toxaemia from necrosis of. the liver, but he could not say what caused that condition. Mr Oddie: Might it he due to poisoning ?—Yes,
