GOLFING.
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) ...; SYDNEY, August 10. The press describes the women’s golf championship semi-final between Misses McLeod and Kay as the finest exhibitions of match play ever seen in a women’s championship. Greater steadiness on the greens was primarily responsible for Miss McLeod’s victoij. Both.gave almost faultless displays of driving, securing a wonderful length. There was little between them in this respect, but Miss McLeod was easily the stylist of the pair, swinging the hall away smoothly. Her adversary on the other hand was inclined to punch the ball away. Miss Kay placed many exquisite pitch and run strokes, but the gem of the day was provided by Miss McLeod ,vith her pitch stroke, that won her the 15th hole, it being perfect. The match ivas watched by a record gallery.
