Australian Press Assn.—United Service FRENCH I’LANE’S crash. PARIS, Aug. 8. A Goliath bomber plane crashed in a field near Lusty and was smashed to pieces. Four of the crew were killed. SPEEDING ATLANTIC MAILS. PARTS, Aug. 8. On the next voyage from Havre to New York, the “Ho do France” takes an aeroplane which leaves the deck with special mails, thus saving 24 hours. Similarly the liner takes on its homeward journey, a plane which lands at Lo Bourget. A surtax is charged on the mail. NEW GLIDER- RECORD. • BERLIN, Aug. 5. The Austrian, Kronfield, taking off in a motorless glider in the Rhon mountains, remained in the air for three hours. He ascended to the record altitude of 1660 feet.
