It is officially stated that with .the return of normal magnetic conditions, tlie Citta Di Milano lias restored wireless communication with Yiglieri, who is now 80/29 degrees, north and 28/40 oast.

The Citta Di Milano also heard by wireless from the Krassin that Chuknovshy, on Tuesday, when returning from a petrol flight lasting four hours along the north-east land, saw three men on an ice floe, one was waving a flag, and another lying down. Chuknovsky tried to land and take off Malgrem, but failed to find a landing place, so lie decided to return to the Krassin and arrange a rescue. A bank of fog suddenly formed and prevented the Russian airmen finding the Krassin, so lie made for tlie Coast. He landed near Capo Flatten; but in doing so damaged liis plane. However, the five men aboard are safe and have provisions sufficient for a fortnight. The Krassin in the meantime is making towards Malgrem, who is estimated to be twelve miles from tlie Russian base ship; Viglieri being fortytwo miles from the same point. It is hoped that tlie Krassin will reach Malgrem' by mid-day Thursday.

AMPHIBEAN PLANES. N NEW. YORK, July 11. A. C. Wrngg, a former resident of Melbourne, has invented a compound aeroplane 'wing for use in amphibean planes. It is claimed that tlie new wing is not affected by water. Sikorsky is now equipping several planes with the Wragg wing.
