POLICE SURPRISE. PARIS, April 14. The Paris polka have arrested five men and three women in connection ,virh the theft of £2,000 worth of jewels from the motor car of a jewel broker who left In's car standing outside his house in the rue Pastourelle. While he went inside another car 1 up. One of the men stepped ,nt. and seized the jewels and jumped back into the car. which drove off at o;! speed. Rut the driver of a motor .minims had noticed the number of he car. 2f>2.2—X4. and the gang was ’ratkoil clown. Detectives .who went to arrest the leader of the gang used the car Xo. 0033 X 4, which belonged to one of the thieves, to drive to a restaurant where the men they sought usually dined. They went inside and arrested him, but when they came out they found that the car had been taken by some unknown thief. They recovered all the stolen jewellery, but are now looking for the man who stole the car of the man who stole the jewellery.
