AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODYS PICTURES. ” HER OWN FREE WILL” —TO-NIGHT. Helene Chadwick believes that those of her sex are perfectly light who declare that their future husband will have to be a mail older than themselves. She was questioned ou the subject while making “ Her Own Free M ill,” her first starring vehicle, which will be shown at the Princess Theatre to-night. In the picture this popular player portrays a girl who marries a man fifteen years her senior in order to keep her father from bankruptcy. Miss Chadwick doesn’t, believe in marrying a man tor money in any case, but she does believe that a girl marry a man quite' a low years older than she is. “That gives him a chance to have acquired some experience and understanding,” she explained. “Understanding is the greatest tiling in marriage. The older man does the right thing at the right time; he often knows what is right even when the woman doesn’t—that is, he does things which she doesn’t realize are for her good until afterwards, just like Peter does for Nan in the picture. I don’t think that any man ever entirely understands a woman, but the older man comes nearer to it than the younger.” Holmes Herbert plays the older husband in “Her Own Free Will.” Allan Simpson, George Backus, and Violet Mersereau are also in the east. The screen dramatization was made by Gerald C. Duffy from Ethel M. Dell’s story of the samename. Paul Scanlon* directed. A scenic, topical and comedy complete a fine programme to-night.
