THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON. Nov. 2. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Land Laws Amendment Hill and .Magistrate’s Court Amendment Hill were put through the final stages and passed, the latter with a technical amendment. On the Land Laws Hill. thi‘ Councillors took advantage of Hie opportunity, paying tribute to the work of the Minister of Lands, Hpn. McLeod, in the interests of the settlers. The Council adjourned at 3.50 p.m. until S p.m. to-day. THE HOUSE. In the House, the Music Teachers’ Registration Hill was introduced and read a first time on the motion of Sii John Luke. A Hill to effect amendments to Land for Settlements Act, was introduced by Governor-General's message. Rural Intermediate Credit Hill. Huh Valley Lands Settlement Amendment, Police Offences Hill, and Introduction of Plants Hill were put through Hr final stages and passed.
