SOLICITOR TX TROUBLE. “ And now— ” said a solicitor in the Wanganui Court, as he bent forward to cross-examine a witness. Just then his braces snapped. It was a matter of quick thinking, and the lawyer did not know whether to ask the magistrate’ for a short adjournment, or carry on. He decided on the latter course, and. grabbing his trousers with one hand and his notes in other, he finished the cross-examination. When the luncheon adjournment was taken he borrowed some red tape used to tie up legal documents and made temporary repairs to the braces until he could purchase a new pair.
