THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. The Legislative Council met at 2.39 p.m. to-day. The Inspection of Machinery Amendment Dill was reported by the Labour Bills Committee with amendments and Land Laws Amendment Bill and Alagistrate’s Court Amendment Bill by Lands Committee and Statutes Revision Committee without amendment. On the second reading of the Tongariro National Park Amendment Bill, Sir F. Bell questioned certain words proposing to give power for exclusion of lands from the park by proclamation and accordingly, after being read a second time, the Bill was referred to the lands Committee. Kauri Glim Industry Amendment Bill and several local measures were read a second time. The Council ndojurned at 3.20 l> ni. until next day. THE HOUSE. The sitting of the House was wholly occupied with deliberation on the Rural Intermediate Credit Bill. The debate on the motion to go into Committee occupied the hours until 12..>9 a m when the House went into Committee. The short title was agreed to at 1.30. progress was reported and the House rose at 1.43 a.m. till 2.30 p.m.
