BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. THE COUNCIL. AVELLTNGTON, Aug. 31. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. ito-day. Six days leave of absence was granted to Hon. Michel and three days to Hon. Cohen on account of illness. The Finance Bill and Imprest Supply Bill, No. 3 was introduced from tho House and accorded urgency and put through all stages an'd passed
withou tamendment. The Egmoirt National Park Amendment Bill and AA’ar Funds Amendment Bill was also introduced and read a first time. Tlie AA’hakntane County Council Empowering and .Loan Money Diversion Bill eras reported fro the local Bills Committee without amendment. The Council adjourned at 3.22 till 2.30 to-morrow afternoon. THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.40 p.m. Tho session in the House of Representatives was occupied with a discussion on reports and Ministers roplys to questions. At the evening sitting a discussion centred round the Minimum AAMgo Bill, the second reading of which was moved by Air MoCombs and after the debate was lost by 47 to 8, tho House rose at 12.5 till 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
