LABOUR’S BESETTING SIN.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —It is with interest and combined with a lew minutes’ spare time (I had nothing else to read) that the above title did not upset my equilibrium but appealed to me as a “ storyette.” so often seen in our daily papers of New Zealand. Who is Harry Holland—only a mere man destined by the Labour Party to do HONEST legislation. Do we get that from the Deform Party? Only last week we hear of "00 immigrants arriving in this country with thousands of New Zealanders out of work—is that HONEST. My friend “Taxpayer’’ who wrote the article with the above heading, I am certain in my mind does not relish the words “HONESTY IN POLITICS”—but may believe in vested interests which the Government no doubt is interested in.

Will my friend explain bow the Government lost I) millions over the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act when our boys put their gratuities into it and their life savings. Did not the same Air Holland warn the GoVernit (I speak as a member of the D.S.S. Act).

You state, Air Taxpayer, that no one wislics to quarrel with Air Holland :lienee your publication of course). You -state he keeps the political cou ; science of the country awake—l really tlioght that was Air Coates’ position. You also state lie holds fast to the faith of his party (Air Holland) —I admire a man of principle—do you? Has our Air Coates kept bis word. Yours, etc., GEO. BECKETT. - C7o Red Lion Hotel.
