EVERYBODYS PICTURES. LOUIIAJNE OF THE LIONS ” —TO-NIGHT. " Lorraine of the Lions,” a Univer-sal-Jewel starring Norman Kerry, is to ho screened at the Princess Theatre. It is a story of contrasts. It contains the thrills of jungle life and the intrigue ol society. 'I he story, which was written hv Isadora Iternxtein, is a feminine version of Turzan, with all the untrammeled wildness of the jungle injected into the character of Lorraine. While in the jungle she is the companion of lions, tigers, monkeys and alligators. When she is rescued and returns to civilisation she cannot understand the queer conventions and ! stilted actions of humans and her actions provide many an amusing hit. At t'lie. age of seven the girl is ship-1 wrecked on a South Sea island, where she and many circus animals on Llic same boat are the only survivors. A favourite pet is a gorilla which protects her from the many dangers of the jungle, once routing of a hand of cannibals. The girl is rescued by her grandfather, who was slhmvn the location of the isle by the young Englishman through his occult powers. Getting hack to San Francisco the girl is dressed up arid introduced to society, stepping into a series of amusing adventures mingled with real danger, when the big gorilla which was taken back to civilisation becomes insanely jealous of the girl’s human companions. 110 breaks out of his cage and assaults the Englishman and is about to jump off the roof of a house with the girl in his arms wtien she, commands him to drop tier. He does and a moment later grasps a high voltage, wire and is electrocuted. Til the east are Fred Humes, Joseph J. Dowling. Philo .McCullough, Harry Todd. Doreen Turner, and Jack Goodrich. Edward Sedgwick directed. The latest in topicnls, a- good comedy and further chapters of the serial complete the hill of fare to-night.
