THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Flax Growing Possiiiimties. “Fow people would believe that a bigger return per acre in cash can be got from the growing and milling of the l’bormiom plant fur iibre in the shape of hemp than from dairying. Vet such is the case. There are few more profitable crops per acre than Phormium Tenax, when the prices are right, and even on the average price for hemp over a longish period for years the figures show an advantage over dairying. In tho high tide of its prosperity the flax swamp has been a quick way tr> fortune for its lucky owners.”— The Wellington "Rost."
