N.S.W POLITICS. SYDNEY. Dec. 20. The Premier, Mr Lang, received a communication lroin lhe Governoi intimating lie was favourable to additional appointments to the Upper House, hut the number was not specified. Cabinet was summoned, and discussed the pending appointments, ultimately deciding to consult the caucus before making any recommendations. It is understood that about twenty new members will bo recommended for appointment. SWIMMING. SYDNEY, Dee. 20. Miss Clare Canldwell won the ladies’ three hundred yards swimming championship of New South (Yales in 4.16 4-5.
