Remarkable revelations of the work of an organisation known as tlic Vehni Society were made in the Prussian Landtag, when a committee presented reports on its investigations. The murderers’ victims were selected primarily because their presence was considered detrimental to the nation. The report adds: “It was revealed that a Westphalian Minister was murdered because he considered that it was inconsistent with his Catholic views that he should continue his membership of a certain League. His body was placed in a church in order to suggest that he suicided.”
