Tlio situation continues a deadlock. Jt appears the Chinese Government tiesires negotiations regarding the last eight of the thirteen demands as well as a revision of the so-called unequal treaties which are to be taken simultaneously with the first five demands. £t is understood the .Powers will insist that the five demands arising diect.lv from the Shanghai incident ho discussed first.
Meanwhile the agitations continue to urge negotiations with Britain alone.
The Chinese crew of four hundred belonging to the Empress of Russia went ashore at Kobe without leave. The vessel is negotiating for engaging a Japanese crew to replace the Chinese.
